The 29’er: Deserving of its own section on our sales floor, the 29’er and its sister the 96’er are Kent’s personal favorites. These bikes are more than a passing fad. The big wheels roll over rocky sections with ease and confidence. Downhill’s are smoothed out with the large wheels, cornering is solid, and all out flat road pushes are road-ride fast.
It’s not really fair to call a 29’er hard tail, a hard tail. The large diameter wheels provide a smoother ride with added traction. As an added bonus, the 29’er wheelbase is generally longer than traditional frames which translates as stability. These bikes are almost impossible to endo.
The sister bike 96’er takes the best of both a traditional 26 inch bike and a 29’er, melding the two together for a superior ride. Built as a hard tail or paired with a Maverick rear suspension system, you have the best of both worlds.
